Beryl Country House was built in 1838 in the Gothic revival style by Benjamin Ferrey and has many interesting architectural features. The house nestles in the Mendip Hills, just one mile from the country's smallest cathedral city of Wells. The grounds are well maintained and feature an outdoor swimming pool, finely manicured lawns, carefully tended borders and a beautifully restored walled garden. The property's elegant reception rooms are comfortably furnished with antiques and provide the perfect place to relax by the fires and read a quiet book or play a board game.
There is much to explore in the surrounding area including Wells Cathedral and the Bishop's Palace, Wookey Hole Caves, Cheddar Caves and Gorge, Longleat and the historic city of Bath with it unique shops, Roman baths and imposing Georgian architecture. Whatever your reason for visiting this tranquil part of the world, you can be assured of a warm and courteous welcome at Beryl Country House.
