A unique guest house situated just below the ruins of Scarborough Castle, the Castle By The Sea has spectacular views across North Bay and the North Yorkshire Coast. Well trained dogs are welcome with dog friendly rooms available. Facilities include free unlimited WiFi and free parking to the front of the guest house or in our garage. Hosts Janet and John offer a warm welcome to their guests, and since taking over the Guest House have embarked on an extensive refurbishment of this beautiful seafront building with a view to restoring it to its former glory.
Our seafront B&B on North Bay is within easy walking distance of North and South Bay beaches. Scarborough's many attractions including stunning walks along the castle wall, indoor bowls, the Stephen Joseph Theatre, two golf courses, Peasholm Park and the cricket club are within easy reach. There is an abundance of restaurants and a lively nightlife in the town, and Anne Bronte's grave is located in St.Mary's churchyard situated just a 2 minutes walk from the our guest house.
The Dining Room caters for all dietary requirements, please inform us at the time of booking. Separate tables are provided in the unusually spacious main dining room where you can partake in the delights of good home cooking prepared using the finest quality produce from around the area for breakfast and evening meal coupled with a full drinks license.
Guests have the option of enjoying breakfast in the dining room or in the Conservatory where dogs are permitted. Pre-order dinner at breakfast, and we'll happily provide a packed lunch on request for an extra charge. Homemade scones, tea cakes and cakes are also available on request.
