Newburgh House Bed and Breakfast is a charming stone house in the village of Coxwold near York. Your hosts Andy and Ryan offer the warmest of welcomes to this peaceful retreat within easy reach of Newburgh Priory and the famous Yorkshire Abbeys of Rievaulx, Fountains and Byland. Spectacular stately home estates including Castle Howard and Newby Hall are also conveniently close and the city of York is a mere 16 miles away. Horse racing fans are also well served with several of Yorkshire's best racecourses such as Thirsk, Ripon and York within easy reach.
A choice of five spacious guest rooms are available all located on the first floor and each with glorious views across our grounds and surrounding countryside. Rooms have their own unique design with soft lighting, WiFi internet access as standard, hospitality trays, TVs with radio/DVD player, hair dryers and fine White Company toiletries.
A delicious and varied breakfast menu is served in our sunny breakfast room with views over our large rear garden.
Breakfast is served daily from 8am to 10am - just pop down and we'll take your order at your table each morning. Please advise us before 8pm the evening before if you will be requiring an earlier breakfast and room service.
At the end of a day of touring or activities relax in the guest sitting room with a cosy open fire or in the library before retiring to your room.
On warmer days feel free to enjoy our stunning traditional walled garden to the rear of the house. Private parking is available onsite to the side.
Open all year round except Christmas. Children are welcome with extra 'Z' beds available for £20 per night. We also welcome well trained dogs. (Dogs are charged a £15 per night supplement).
Please note we do not offer single occupancy rates at weekends.
Pretty Coxwold village in North Yorkshire is steeped in history with stone-built houses, a beautiful church and two great inns. Country walks and drives are direct from our door and the market towns of Helmsley and Thirsk, York's many attractions, the North York Moors and the Howardian Hills AONB are all within easy reach.
Newburgh Priory, Fountains Abbey, Byland and Rievaulx Abbeys are within 20 miles and we're within an hour's drive of the East Coast and the resorts of Whitby, Scarborough and Robin Hood's Bay.
Heading north on the A1, bypass Boroughbridge along the A168 to Thirsk. Bypass Thirsk and join the A19 south heading towards York. After about 2 miles on the A19 you'll see a sign for Coxwold, Byland Abbey and Helmsley - take a left turn to Coxwold.
After around 4 miles you'll enter the village at the top end, passing a pub on your left. Continue down the hill and over the crossroads. After a 1/4 mile you'll see a lake to your left. Newburgh is the first house on your left just past the lake.
Parking is located through the double-white gates adjacent to the house.
