About this Bed and Breakfast

The Belmont Bed & Breakfast is a charming 18th Century cottage in the pretty village of Wrelton in Ryedale, North Yorkshire.  We're ideally situated on the southern edge of the North York Moors between Pickering, Helmsley and Malton.  The North Yorkshire Moors steam railway is easily accessed at nearby Pickering or take a tour of Pickering Castle.  Both Whitby and Scarborough are only a short drive away and we're just 8 miles from fantastic cycle trails and a Go Ape treetops adventure centre in Dalby Forest.  Enjoy great food and drink at our local pub The Buck Inn, perfect for dining out just after you've arrived!  A choice of scenic walks are direct from our door and facilities include free WiFi and off street parking.

  • The Hayloft - Superior Double.  This spacious double room has a king-size double bed, views across to the village green and a superb cathedral ceiling with original exposed beams.  The en-suite bathroom includes a bath and a shower.

A wide choice of attractions and things to do are situated close to the B&B including rides on the nearby steam railway, walking and touring the North York Moors National Park and daytrips to York, Whitby or Scarborough.

Castle Howard, Yorkshire's famous stately home estate between Malton and York is within easy driving distance.

We are located just off the main A170, only 2 miles to the west of Pickering and 5 miles east of Kirkbymoorside.

From the M1/South and M62/West follow signs for Leeds and from Leeds take the A64 to York.  Follow the outer ring road around York, keeping on the A64 following signs for Scarborough.

On the A64 after the turn-off for Malton exit off at the A169 heading towards Pickering.  At the main Pickering roundabout take a left turn on to the A170 heading west towards Kirkbymoorside and Helmsley.

After passing Middleton and Aislaby villages take a right turn signed for Wrelton, Cropton and Rosedale.  Continue following the road into the village, and take a sharp right hand bend onto Main Street/ High Street.  The Belmont is located on the left just opposite the village green and up from the red phone box.

From the A1 and A19 North - follow signs for Thirsk, and from Thirsk take the A170 to Scarborough.  Continue through Helmsley, staying on the A170 heading towards Kirkbymoorside.  At the Kirkbymoorside roundabout continue straight on towards Pickering.

When you've just past Sinnington take a left into Wrelton village.  Carry on past the local pub, The Buck Inn, and take a left for Cropton and Rosedale.  The Belmont is located just on the left opposite the village green and up from the red phone box.
