A two bedroom single storey barn conversion with a stunning interior, Roxy's Roost is just 10 miles east of York, and has contemporary furnishings and decor throughout. The cottage is one of our five Bricknell Cottages at Pear Tree Farm in Fangfoss on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. Facilities onsite include undercover parking and secure bike storage. We do have a few bikes on the farm which guests are welcome to borrow. You'll also have full use of a games room with pool/ snooker table and football table, a full sized table tennis table and air hockey. Country walks into adjacent fields and the Wolds beyond are direct from your door and David Hockney Country is right on your doorstep. Our great local inn is only 200m from the cottages.
Roxy's Roost is a real 'home from home', with a cosy lounge, kitchen and dining area. Accommodation is all on the ground floor, and character original features including exposed beams and wooden flourishes are retained. The kitchen area contains a dishwasher, a fridge with freezer compartment and a washing machine. Living space leads into the two beautiful double bedrooms including a master bedroom with a white bed, floral country cushions and adjacent open plan modern bathroom with luxury double bath. Bedroom two also has a stylish en-suite, and both bedrooms contain an LCD TV and a DVD player. Outside to the front of the cottage is a pretty patio area with furniture, perfect for al fresco drinks and dining. Roxy's Roost with all ground floor accommodation and assisted access is ideal for our less mobile guests.
Our country fields are a mere 20 metres from the cottages and land surrounding the farm features a network of bridleways and footpaths into the Yorkshire Wolds, heading towards pretty villages like Bishop Wilton just 1.5 miles away, with a country pub serving fine food and ales. The picturesque Wolds Way National Trail is within easy reach. Explore landscapes which inspired the Yorkshire artist David Hockney around Fangfoss and the farm. York's many museums and attractions are just to the west. Pear Tree Farm is also conveniently close to the spectacular stately home estate of Castle Howard, the North York Moors, cycling in Dalby Forest, market town Beverley and Bridlington on the coast.
