About this Holiday Cottage

A quintessential English country hideaway near Pickering, Coach House Cottage is perfect for family getaways and retains lovely original features. Situated in a beautiful landscaped garden, the cottage is one of three at Middleton Hall and the charming accommodation offers a wonderful base for families exploring the nearby North Yorkshire Moors. Pets are also welcome by arrangement and local amenities in Pickering can be found just a short drive away.


The stylish living accommodation flows naturally through the ground floor and includes a comfortable sitting room with wood burner stove and a hall with original stable feature. The dining room offers space for up to six people and modern facilities in the kitchen include a washer/ dryer, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, electric oven and gas hob. Underfloor heating is fitted throughout the ground floor and French doors from the dining room lead out into the attractive gardens. Modern entertainment facilities include a flat screen TV, DVD player plus film selection and midi music system.

Bedrooms / Bathrooms

  • Delightful master bedroom with king-size bed and an ensuite bathroom complete with rain shower
  • Spacious twin/ king size double bedroom with ensuite bathroom and hand held shower 


The cottage has its own access, drive and landscaped garden with adjoining paddock. Guests can also explore the beautiful grounds with mature trees, wonderful structures including a bendy willow house and kid's trampoline. All manner of wildlife is encouraged including owls and bats. 

On Monday evenings, local bell ringers gather to practice at the beautiful village church which is located some fifty yards away. 

The Barn and Applestore Cottage

  • The Barn - a luxurious three bedroom conversion with two garden areas, stylish lounge with log burner and plenty of period features throughout.
  • Applestore Cottage - a spacious two bedroom cottage with one double bedroom, one twin bedroom, plenty of period features and a country-style kitchen. Cots and high chairs are provided for children and there is a secret 'walled garden' with outdoor seating.

Other Things to Note

The rental price includes heating, electricity, towels, linen along with a stock of logs and kindling. The welcome grocery hamper is well stocked with tea/ coffee making supplies, butter, eggs, yogurt, bread and red wine. A travel cot and high chair can be provided by arrangement. A hose for washing down bikes can be found next to the garage.

There is free WiFi usually at over 10Mb/sec.

The property is next door to a working farm so you may be aware of the arable and beef farming cycles.  


Short breaks of three nights or more may be available between September and May.

Pets are accepted in the Coach House by arrangement. No smoking.
