Scary Guy Visits Lancashire Schools

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

Tippet Farm in Rossendale weren’t quite sure what to do when ‘Scary Guy’ arrived on the doorstep.

The Story

Wendy Davison and her family have been renting out a Rossendale holiday cottage on their small holding in the Rossendale Valley for eight years, but this was the strangest booking they’d ever received.

The enquiry arrived from iknow-northwest with just one question…

Whether there was a big bed in the cottage.

The Davison’s didn’t think any more of it, until Mr Scary arrived.  They wondered who on earth was getting out of the car on their driveway.  He was about 20 stone, covered in tattoos, with lots of facial piercing and two bolts shot through the top of his nose.  Every tooth in his mouth was gold.

The Progress

Mr Scary had flown in from America and had been travelling for hours.  He hadn’t stopped for food, so the family gave him ½ dozen free-range eggs from their small-holding and some freshly-baked bread, which he ate in one sitting.

The Results

It just shows you should never judge a book by its cover.  Mr Scary was visiting schools in the area on a mission to prevent bullying.

He really was called Mr Scary – he’d changed his name to Scary Guy and that was the name in his passport.

He must have been impressed with Tippett Farm, as he returned for a three-week stay.  It could have been the free range eggs and home-made goats cheese that attracted him back, or the fact that Tippett Farm is a peaceful refuge in what must be a frantic life.

Either way, he was very generous and gave the Davison’s daughter a huge Chocolate Bunny, on the proviso that she handed its head back to him to eat.
