North East Accommodation
North East Accommodation: Newcastle Accommodation, Durham, Alnwick, Bamburgh
There is accommodation to be found right across the North East of England. Newcastle accommodation is amongst the most popular and is available in the form of hotels, cottages, guest houses, B&B’s and more. Each accommodation type will offer its own unique benefits and it is down to the individual to work out what their particular needs are, and which type of property will best suit them. Newcastle is found within Tyne & Wear; other major areas include County Durham in which Durham accommodation dominates, and Northumberland. Within Northumberland the major areas are Alnwick, Hexham, Bamburgh, Seahouses and Berwick-upon-Tweed. These are split between the mainland and the coast, with Alnwick accommodation further inland, and Bamburgh accommodation found nearer to the seaside.
Newcastle-upon-Tyne Hotels, Alnwick Hotels, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Bamburgh – North East Hotels
Hotel accommodation is immensely popular in the UK and all around the world. It is the single most popular choice amongst holidaymakers across the globe. There are many Newcastle-upon-Tyne hotels for visitors to choose from and these can vary in size, style and quality. Properties may also be awarded a star rating of between one and five stars, with five reflecting the best possible quality. Alnwick hotels are popular and many visitors to the area take the opportunity to visit Alnwick Castle, which is a major tourist attraction. There are also a number of Berwick-upon-Tweed hotels, and Berwick is the northernmost town in England and is only a couple of miles from the Scottish border. Like Alnwick, Bamburgh hosts a major castle which again is a major tourist attraction. The Bamburgh hotels with one or two star ratings are also likely to be much cheaper than those that are of four and five star quality. Modern Hexham hotels will likely be equipped with facilities like TV’s, phones, an air conditioning unit and possibly an internet connection, although such things obviously depend on the individual property.
Bed and Breakfast Newcastle, Bed and Breakfast Durham, Alnwick, Berwick – North East
Bed and breakfast accommodation is not to be confused with B&B accommodation. The former is the generic term used to describe any and all properties that are able to offer a room for the night as well as serving breakfast in the morning. Bed and breakfast Newcastle accommodation can include hotels, guest houses, hostels and B&B’s – which are a specific variety of bed and breakfast accommodation. Bed and breakfast Durham properties are normally of a fairly high standard, as are bed and breakfast Alnwick properties. Those who prefer a destination nearer to the coast might consider the bed and breakfast Berwick offers at various properties around the area.
B&B Newcastle, B&B Alnwick, B&B Bamburgh, Hexham – North East, UK
B&B’s are a type of bed and breakfast accommodation. They are normally fairly small in size, often being found as an extension of a private house or farm. A B&B Newcastle offers might only have the capacity to host 6 paying guests at any one time. B&B Alnwick properties are, like those across the North East, likely to be family run, and the staff are usually on hand to offer advice and assistance where it is required. Bamburgh B&B accommodation is popular with visitors to Northumberland, and at a B&B they can expect a more personalised service than they would likely receive at a large hotel. On iknow-northeast you will notice that B&B’s and guest houses share an accommodation type. The reason for this is that they are extremely similar, with Hexham guest houses perhaps able to accommodate a couple more guests and offer one or two additional services that a Hexham B&B does not.
Northumberland Cottages, Bamburgh Cottages, Alnwick, Seahouses Cottages, North East UK
Cottage holidays in the North East are a great self catering choice for families, couples and groups. Northumberland cottages in particular are popular, with Bamburgh cottages principal amongst these. Children are almost always welcome at cottages in the North East; whilst some cottages are also pet-friendly. It is also worth considering that some Alnwick cottages and those across the region may become isolated outside of peak seasons, and may not be within easy reach of shops and amenities. Seahouses cottages are especially popular in the summer months when the local population swells. The area has a working fishing port which is also an embarkation point from which people can visit the Farne Islands.
Holiday Flats to Rent in Newcastle, Sunderland, Newcastle Serviced Apartments, North East, UK
North East flats and apartments are a fantastic self catering option for those who desire holiday accommodation with the freedom to come and go as and when they please – having their own key in order to do so. There are many holiday flats to rent in Newcastle, whilst there are also a number of Newcastle serviced apartments that are ideal for business men and women. Flats and apartments tend to be found in major town and city centres, and aside from Newcastle you can also find a selection of holiday flats in Sunderland that are great for midweek, weekend and overnight stays.
Newcastle Pubs, Middlesbrough and Sunderland Pubs and Inns in the North East
There are many, many pubs in the North East and particularly in busy areas like Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Sunderland that provide accommodation as well as serving traditional real ales and pub food. Newcastle pubs are often family-run and one can expect a pleasant atmosphere as they can at pubs in Sunderland. The service at pubs in Middlesbrough will most likely be of a personal nature and the food served is often made using fresh, local produce.
Berwick Caravan Park, Campsites in Durham, Campsites Newcastle, North East UK
Staying at campsites and holiday parks is quintessentially British and these types of holidays have retained their popularity despite the wealth of options available to holidaymakers these days. They are a great self catering option for groups and families in particular, and are relatively cheap when compared with the cost of staying at hotels or B&B’s. Visitors to the North East might consider a Berwick caravan park, or one of the many campsites in Durham. There will be plenty of on-site facilities at campsites Newcastle offers, whilst there are often other things to do nearby.
Hostels in Newcastle, Hostels in the North East
Hostels in Newcastle are an extremely cheap form of accommodation that can be ideal for large groups of people who are willing to share a dormitory, kitchen and bathroom facilities. Newcastle hostels are perhaps the most popular in the North East and are popular with frequent travellers and backpackers.
You will find that on iknow-northeast.co.uk accommodation can be sorted by both type and speciality. Accommodation types include hotels, cottages, guest houses and B&B’s – different forms of accommodation, each of which is unique. Specialities are further categories to which properties may belong that provide additional information about what the property might offer. Examples are self catering, car parking and pet & dog friendly. Information has been given in the preceding text about a number of these types and specialities; however there is more information to be found on the regional site itself.
