Bangor Pier

Set in an excellent location on the Menai Strait, Bangor is home to a large university, Bangor Cathedral and Penrhyn Castle built in the 19th Century. The current Bangor Cathedral also dates back to the 19th Century but its origins date back as far as the 6th Century when a cell was established by St Deiniol. The town received much attention from the Victorians including a Pier built in 1896 offering views of the nearby Menai Suspension Bridge and you can learn all about the town's history at the Bangor Museum and Art Gallery.
