Bronte Parsonage Museum

Bronte Parsonage Museum

Pennine Yorkshire's Haworth village is synonymous with the Bronte Sisters who arrived in Haworth in 1821. The landscapes of the Pennine moorlands surrounding this iconic literary centre inspired the stories of Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre, and the walk up to Top Withens from the Parsonage is to walk in the footsteps of Charlotte, Emily and Anne.

Attractions

The village offers a selection of superb attractions including the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway with lots of themed steam events including Thomas Days and favourite weekenders like the Haworth 1940s Weekend! Craft shops, pretty tearooms, antiques and collectables shops, specialist cheese and chocolate shops line the cobbled climbing Main Street, jostling for space with famous old inns like the Black Bull, a former watering hole of Patrick Bronte.

Haworth hosts a selection of fantastic festivals annually including the hugely popular vintage Haworth 1940s Weekend across the late May Bank Holiday weekend. Other not to be missed attractions and activities around Bronte village include the Railway Children Walk accessible via the Worth Valley Railway to station stop Oakworth where the walk begins. The trail takes in numerous scenes from the 1970s film from the Three Chimneys House to Bents House close to Oxenhope Station. The Railway also hosts an annual Railway Children weekend.
