Cardiff Castle

Dynamic Cardiff is a city full of entertainment venues and attractions, from the interesting and educational to places with a focus on fun. Its most recognisable attraction is the Wales Millennium Centre - an arts venue with upper-floor windows that form the words  'Creu Gwir fel Gwydr o Ffwrnais Awen' which translates to 'Creating truth like glass from inspiration's furnace' together with the English phrase  'In These Stones Horizons Sing', each letter is six foot high and when illuminated creates an impressive sight. The Millennium Centre is not to be confused with the Cardiff Millennium Stadium, for live sports and music, where tours are available if you're not planning on attending a show or event.

Historic attractions include the impressive Cardiff Castle, and the historic Llandaff Cathedral which is one of the oldest religious sites in Europe. Its ghost tours were voted amongst the Guardian's Top 10 Things to Do in the UK. For an active day out, visit Planet Ice for ice-skating at Cardiff Bay, or go to the Cardiff International Sports Village and Cardiff International White Water to enjoy the thrill of white-water rafting in a safe artificial environment.

The Centenary Walk offers a great opportunity to explore the city on foot, and interesting museums include the Museum of Welsh Life and St Fagans National History Museum. Nearby you'll also find the Cosmeston Lakes Country Park including the living medieval village. There's so much to explore in the Welsh capital city. Book Cardiff accommodation, and give yourself time to visit all your favourite attractions.
