Christmas Markets in Bath

Bath is home to many unique shops. Yes, it has its fair share of high street classics and brand names, but it also is cram-packed full with boutique-style shops, exclusive places, designer items, gallery shopping and lots more. Bath's city centre is quite compact, as well as extremely attractive, making it both accessible and compelling to shop there. And this has been the case in this city centre since Georgian times. The small passageways, the wide streets, the honey coloured stone, all add to the experience. Pulteney Bridge Shopping

For a unique shopping experience, take a stroll along Bath's Pulteney Bridge. It's considered one of the most beautiful bridges in the world, and is similar to the stunning Ponte Vecchio Bridge in Florence. Like the Ponte Vecchio, Pulteney Bridge is one of only a few bridges in the world to have shops built into it. It crosses the River Avon, and is home to charming gift shops, craft stores and florists.

You also won't want to miss Timber Treasures in the Abbey Green area - they sell elaborate wooden gifts from locally-sourced timber, and other sustainable woods from all over the world. And the Guildhall Market has stood on its current site for over 800 years, with stalls selling everything from books, food and fashion accessories to toys, homewares and pet supplies. Sneak into the celebratory Funtastic! Party Shop, while enjoying the architecture of this gorgeous Georgian building, and revelling in the banter of the local traders, the friendly atmosphere and maybe even the annual Christmas markets.
