Bizarre Bath comedy bike

After dark, the peaceful atmosphere of historic Bath gives way to a choice of lively clubs, live entertainment venues and modestly lit, intimate wine and cocktail bars. You'll find ways to spend your night whether you're looking for a drink and a dance with the girls, a great night with the guys or a peaceful drink with a loved one accompanied by jazz music or the sound of a piano.

Comedy and theatre

Bath is home to some great comedy clubs from famous favourites to the independent Rondo Theatre, and you can catch an evening performance in one of Bath's five theatres on any day of the week. The Theatre Royal which is also home to the children's Egg Theatre, is a magnificent Georgian building, so do try to see a show there if you can.

The Bizarre Bath Comedy Walk is a quirky and hilarious walking tour of the city, starting at 8pm each evening. It takes an irreverent look at this historic city, is full of surprises and runs throughout the warmer months (April to November). Or why not try The Porter which hosts a Comedy Cavern each and every Sunday, with live music on another four nights? This classy venue also hosts a cinema club, high teas and gin parties, cocktail master classes, and some fine soul, funk and house music in stylish laid-back surroundings.

Why not try a Cabaret or Comedy night out at Komedia? It has won awards as the Best Venue in the Chortle Awards, so obviously attracts some hilarious comedians, new and old, but also runs music and film events and has a good cafe. We all need more laughing to keep us healthy, so go on - book your accommodation with us, then book a night of giggles at Komedia.

Something a bit different

Enjoy an unusual evening on a Bath Ghost Walk which takes in so many of the historic sites in this compact city - and you'll experience just how different they look by lamplight. With talk of poltergeists, strange theatrical events, and the figure of a beautiful spectral singing lady, this will be a fascinating experience!

Clubs and Pubs

In common with all city centres, Bath does have its fair share of clubs and pubs. Some of the more popular are Second Bridge (nightclub and cocktail bar, stylish, friendly and busy), Po Na Na (student nights, pop-indie, rock and metal) and Baroque (club and lounge with great lighting and banging music).

Bath's pubs range from food-orientated establishments with great gastro-pub menus, to old style drinking establishments some with beer gardens or outdoor areas, some child-friendly, and some more orientated towards the more sophisticated night-owls. The Bell Inn is a friendly choice - a good pub with live music! Here's a good listings page to find out more, if you don't want to leave your evening experience to chance. Whatever your taste or personality, a day in Bath won't end when the sun goes down. Find and book Bath accommodation, and explore the city by night for a different experience of this Roman city.
