Seaton Bay from Beer

Seaside town Seaton on the Jurassic Coast with its shingle beach and small picturesque harbour is home to the Seaton Tramway with electric narrow gauge heritage trams running for 3 miles through beautiful countryside in the Axe Valley between Seaton and Colyton. The tram route takes in two nature reserves and offers magnificent views of wading birds on the River Axe estuary. A tramstop cafe, gift shop and a new dinosaur activity area are at Colyton Station, and there are lots of themed events and experiences through the year including birdwatching trips and a dinosaur themed enclosed tram featuring loveable dinosaur character Buddy (the T Rex) and friends from the popular American cartoon TV series.

With free admission, the Seaton Museum displays photographs of the town in the past, and includes displays and artefacts with links to the local area. The Seaton Illuminated Carnival takes place over the August Bank Holiday weekend and includes rides, shows and a parade. Coastal views towards the White Cliff of Beer and Haven Cliff at Axmouth are stunning from the impressive Seaton Labyrinth and look out for The Colyton Vintage Tractor Run if you're visiting over the May Bank Holiday when over 100 tractors pass through Seaton on their way from Colyton to Branscombe.

Seaton Jurassic Visitor Centre

An exciting new visitor attraction, Seaton Jurassic will be open from summer 2015, situated on The Underfleet in the centre, next to the Tramway terminus, a 2 minute walk from the seafront. The attraction will tell the story of the geology and marine ecology of the Jurassic Coast, and is located in the perfect spot here in Seaton. The seaside town is surrounded by magnificent scenery including the wild stretch of the Undercliffs National Nature Reserve and the beautiful Axe Estuary. It's the perfect time to book your short break or holiday in the Seaton and Beer village area!
