The Promenade, Douglas, Isle of Man

The Isle of Man town of Douglas is the island’s capital. If you’re visiting by ferry from Belfast, Liverpool, Heysham or Dublin you’ll be arriving at Douglas to begin your holiday. Getting Here

Island capital Douglas sits on the central east coast of the island and is the most accessible, with Manx Ferries and the Steam Packet docking at Douglas Harbour. The Isle of Man is just 36 miles long and 12 miles wide, so based in central Douglas you're within an easy drive of island attractions to the north and south, or a scenic steam railway ride south or vintage electric tram ride north away. Main island motorway routes the A1, A5 and A2 branch out from Douglas and Ronaldsway Airport just to the south via the A5 is an easy drive from the capital.
