Fancy dining in this grand location?

Weston, like all good-sized towns, has its fair share of takeaways, ice creams on the beach, cheap and cheerful cafes, and chain eateries, but is also well-stocked with quite special places in which to dine. Here's a selection to suit all budgets and there's some quirky ones in there too!

The Winter Gardens

The Winter Gardens are spectacular, spacious and elegant and look out over Weston Bay, making for some gorgeous views. If you choose to dine here, you can select one of the two dining areas - one, the Vineyard Bistro, or The Prom Coffee Shop - great for lunch and general daytime refreshments. But this venue is also well known as a fantastic wedding venue offering some incredible catering to their guests.

Cafes, cheap & cheerful eateries and tea rooms

One place you really need to visit is the Sand Bay Tea Rooms. This unassuming establishment serves delicious homemade meals, soups and cakes, all freshly prepared. Inside is cheerful and homely and it is definitely an eatery where diners return time and time again. Online polls back this up. This air-conditioned cafe is a great place with great food in a great location.

Another option, perhaps for the heartier appetites amongst us, is the Beach Road fish and chip bar, Winston's - its bright and modern surroundings and mega-sized fish tanks are great, but being able to watch your food being cooked on the telly while you wait, is somewhat novel and very compelling!

Or for those who love anything a little quirky, you could try The Old Town Quarry on Town Road - nestled, as its name implies, within an old quarry. With a menu of the usually found panninis, soups, cakes etc there is also a specials board you can peruse while admiring the local wildlife and perhaps scanning their gift shop... Or, for more quirky establishments, try The Heritage - built in the old fire station in Grove Village. The homemade food in this family-run place is fabulous and interesting and their cosy bistro evenings are intimate, offering fabulous food. They also run pudding nights, French Evenings, and many more speciality events.

Fine Dining & Creative Cuisine

Duets is probably one of the more expensive and most highly esteemed restaurants in the town. The mainly British food is well cooked and imaginative, and the decor and staff are both welcoming. On Upper Bristol Road, their specials might include Fillet of Black Bream panfried with Lemon Butter, Dill and Prawns, or try Duet of Guinea Fowl or Calves Liver with Beer Batter Onion Rings. An imaginative and interesting menu, with a set dinner menu price (specials may incur a small surcharge on top of this).

Or for a delightful three course dinner menu, why not try Cove Bar and Restaurant? With gorgeous options ranging from Pan Seared Lamb with Onion Puree to Coconut Pannacotta with Ginger and Lime Crumb, my mouth is watering already. And the setting is lovely too, as it is situated on the promenade overlooking Weston Bay and Knightstone Island and outdoors dining making the most of this stunning location is certainly encouraged!
