Weston SeaQuarium

Weston's positively buzzing with attractions and things to do. From the town's festivals, eateries and nightlife to the SeaQuarium, Playhouse Theatre, Odeon Cinema with its original Compton pipe organ, Winter Gardens, parks and beaches, you definitely won't have a boring family holiday in this seaside town...! Here are a few places to consider visiting during your stay:

The Grand Pier

The Grand Pier has been rebuilt and refurbished following a massive fire in 2008, and now houses a funfair, go-karting, 4D cinema, and laser play. Bright and colourful, it is a paradise for lively children, and for plenty of parents too!

SeaQuarium

This beach-located aquarium sits perched upon its own pier and has, as you'd expect, has some incredible views along the Severn Estuary, and inside has tanks of rays, sharks and many other sea-dwelling creatures. The underwater tunnels are always popular, as are the jellyfish, seahorses, and piranhas, especially when you're allowed to feed them. More than thirty exhibits will entrance and perhaps even calm down over-excited kids - if you're lucky!

Weston Wheel

Weston-super-Mare's sea front is home to an incredible 40 metre high observation wheel with 30 viewing pods allowing you to see all the way to Cardiff! This popular attraction is only installed on the beach during the warmer Summer months, and may be subject to temporary closure in adverse weather conditions, particularly in high winds. The thirteen minute trip in a climate controlled capsule comes with the option of a tourist commentary, and there's even a VIP capsule with a glass floor and champagne, if required!

North Somerset Butterfly House

This quite new butterfly paradise is situated in Congresbury and is full of gorgeous plants, incredible butterflies, and has a superbly friendly environment. Perfect for families, educators and anyone interested in simply finding out more about these wonderful creatures.

Other places to visit

The Baytree Owl and Wildlife Centre is all about introducing people to animals they may never have experienced first-hand, showcasing native owls and wildlife, flying and displaying, and they also offer experience days. Weston-super-Mare’s museum and the nearby Helicopter Museum both entertain and entrance young and old alike. Take a look at our link page to find out a little more about them both.
