Weymouth Harbour by Night

Weymouth is a great seaside party town popular with visitors of all ages, offering a variety of nightlife entertainment. The resort has an excellent nightclub scene, and together with a plentiful supply of quality, affordable accommodation, Weymouth is perfect for a party weekend or Stag & Hen do. The club scene in Weymouth is lively. Dusk on the Esplanade is famous for its wild foam parties, best DJs, stag & hen nights and affordable bar. Rendezvous on St Thomas Street is a great place to eat as well as dance, and it's also a top spot for best DJs and atmosphere. There are some stylish, elegant wine bars clustered around the old harbour with views towards Weymouth Bay and you can take in a musical or ballet performance at the seafront Pavilion Theatre. A wide choice of romantic bistro style restaurants sit around the old harbour area which offers a more romantic scene.

Historic Inns

Weymouth is probably better known for its pubs, being home to a fair few real ale hostelries, and a couple of very old haunted inns. The Boot Inn is reputedly Weymouth's oldest hostelry (apparently originally established in 1346!) and runs its own ghost and smuggling tours. It is a down-to-earth pub with real ale (5 cask ales a day are on offer), wines and malts and special pork pies served with local chutney... a real feel-good place in which to chill out.

The Black Dog also competes as a traditional and ancient pub, an old smuggler haunt, and one-time meeting-place of the eighteenth century writer Daniel Defoe (who wrote Robinson Crusoe shortly after a meeting with a shipwrecked seafarer in here)... it is also known as a haunted pub - serving fantastic beers, carvery food, and it's dog friendly too! This pub's ghost is reputed to appear in the fireplace. If you're hoping to catch some live music during your Weymouth visit, look no further than Finns... pub specialists in lively, rowdy rock music, so probably not the best choice if a tea dance is more your thing! For something with a little more sophistication, why not try the Nook, which is a Bar, Eatery, and Cocktail Lounge. It serves an unusual cocktail menu and good food. Though they are open in the daylight hours, their stag and hen night options and super cool atmosphere set them apart during the evenings and into the early hours.
