Wensleydale Railway

One of Yorkshire’s favourite old railways – The Wensleydale Railway - has been recently renovated and runs between Leeming Bar, Leyburn and Redmire. A landslide last December at Akebar between Bedale and Leyburn literally cut the 16 mile route in half threatening the survival of this beloved Dales Railway. Thanks to the efforts of a committed small team and a major feat of engineering skill, trains will be fully operational between Leeming Bar and Redmire, the railway route stretch which many regard as the most scenic along the 22 mile long route.

No need to leave your furry friend behind. Dogs are charged a mere £1 per railway journey and assistance dogs travel free.
