Edinburgh Cityscape

Edinburgh Cityscape

There is so much to do in Edinburgh! Aside from shopping in the city centre stores and arcades, and wandering along the gorgeous winding streets in search of something quirky and enticing, visitors can shop out-of-town too, at a few different locations.

While in the city, visitors can enjoy dining and relaxing in Edinburgh's many eateries, bars and pubs. And there are so many historical features to explore. Spectacular Georgian buildings, the incredible castle, St Giles Cathedral, some wonderful ancient churches, the botanic gardens, the grave and statue of Greyfriars Bobby, the many festivals, galleries and museums... there is so much to do and so little time!

Visitors shouldn't take a trip to Edinburgh area without at least staring in wonder at the Forth Road Bridge, and of course there's the prospect of a quick journey out to Leith to the shopping centre, leisure facilities and the Britannia Yacht.

Or why not travel a little further out of the city - perhaps to visit Dunfermline on the Northern banks of the Firth of Forth, or even travel further West to the beautiful coastline, or into the many lochs and reservoirs of the Pentland, Moorfoot and Lammermuir Hills? Or visitors may like to take a day out travelling Westwards towards Glasgow. Also on Edinburgh's outskirts there's plenty of interest - the mining museum near Newtonloan, Castlelaw Hill Fort, many gardens and historic buildings, Crichton Castle, Ormiston Market Cross, Preston Market Cross, Craigmillar Castle, chapels, ruined churches and so much more. You could even try Scottish Sealand at North Berwick - only a short trip East along the A1.

There are so many beautiful buildings, festivals, museums and galleries in Edinburgh, you will never be short of something to do!
