One of Britain's great medieval cities, Norwich contains around 1,500 historic buildings located within its city walls! Historic landmarks span the Norman, Medieval, Georgian, Victorian and contemporary period in the city. The magnificent Norwich Cathedral dates from the Norman period and is one of Europe's most complete Romanesque buildings. Other architectural highlights include the Georgian Assembly Rooms, the Norman Norwich Castle Keep, the medieval merchant's trading hall Dragon Hall and late 1930s Art Deco gem Norwich City Hall.

The city is home to over 30 flint-built medieval churches and a selection of beautiful historic shopping arcades and department stores including the breathtaking Art Nouveau Royal Arcade and independent department Store Jarrold, a two time winner of UK Independent Department Store of the Year.
