The Pavilion Theatre offering a mix of year round comedy shows, musicals, ballet, a Christmas pantomime and more sits at the southern end of The Esplanade. One of the best ways to explore the Jurassic Coast around Weymouth is via a choice of boat trips from Weymouth Harbour.

The beach hosts a range of events throughout the year including volleyball competitions, firework displays, motocross and kite festivals. Dogs are permitted on the Pavilion end of the beach only between May to September and Weymouth Beach is accessible to wheelchair users with ramp/ level access. Weymouth Bay and Portland Harbour to the South of Weymouth - the deepest man-made harbour in the country - are great for all sorts of watersports. Sailing is hugely popular as are kitesurfing, windsurfing, water skiing and diving. Weymouth Bay has specifically designated areas for watersports so bathers can splash around in the sea without being disturbed. If you haven't had a go at watersports before you'll find plenty of places where you can organise tuition or trips as well as pick up equipment or accessories. A popular guided trip is by kayak or power boat along the Jurassic Coast. Shore angling and sea fishing are both popular around Weymouth. You can bring your own boats to launch at several places or pick up one of the many sea fishing trips available from Weymouth Bay.
