The collection originates with the curious curator Mervyn G Palmer who travelled extensively in South America collecting butterflies for the British Museum. Step back in time and explore Ilfracombe's maritime history and view the museum's collection of model ships and steamers. Award-winning Ilfracombe Aquarium is the resort's great family fun all weather attraction located within the town's Old Lifeboat House. See over 75 species of marine life in their own recreated natural environments.
