Manx Kippers in Peel

Peel is the Isle of Man's main fishing port and famously where you can sample the delicious Manx Kipper. Take a tour of Moore's Kipper Factory - tours are available daily from May to September offering a real insight into the smoking process. A family run business, Moore's Manx Kippers has been around in Peel since the Victorian era and the factory features an on-site shop

It's the oak smoking of the kippers - oak fired and chimney smoked that makes them so delicious as you'll discover on a factory tour. Manx Kippers have been smoked at Moores in Peel since 1770 within the distinctive long red herring houses and old curing yard. The site is essentially a living museum.
