The Esk Valley Railway

Sleights, meaning 'flat land near water' is situated on elevated hillsides either side of the River Esk. The village is ideal for exploring the beautiful Esk Valley area of North Yorkshire and has a station stop along the Esk Valley Railway running between Whitby and Middlesbrough.

Base yourself in Sleights and explore Whitby and the North York Moors by scenic steam railway. The Esk Valley Railway pushes west to Grosmont where you can connect with the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Other station stops include Danby, home to the flagship Moors Centre and Great Ayton in the heart of Captain Cook Country.
