The East Coast Mainline rail service offers great value fast train links from London and Edinburgh direct to York and Leeds. Grand Central also operate a fast rail service from Kings Cross to York, and First TransPennine Express trains connect the region to North West Airports and the North East.

National Express coach services operate to all Yorkshire's cities and by road the M1 motorway is a direct route in from the south, with other motorway routes in including the A1 (from Scotland and the North East) and the M62 (from the North West).
