About this Holiday Cottage

Hillside Granary Cottage between Thirsk and Northallerton is an excellent place to stay for those after a relaxing holiday close to the North York Moors National Park.  Our beautiful property is surrounded by walking routes, making us ideal for those interested in taking in the great outdoors while on holiday, and as we are set at the base of the Hambleton Hills you can expect some incredible views from the property.

  • The cottage is a stunning barn conversion retaining original beams combined with a contemporary design.
  • Spacious open plan living space on the ground floor includes living, dining and kitchen areas.
  • The kitchen has been equipped with modern appliances including a fridge with a freezer box, an electric cooker, dishwasher and small appliances such as a kettle and microwave.
  • A wc is located on the ground floor.
  • We have a WIFI connection that is available throughout the cottage, and we are happy to allow families with young children to stay with us.

Bedrooms / Bathrooms

  • Our self catering accommodation can sleep a maximum of 5 people, with a double room, a twin room and a sofa bed in the lounge.
  • The double bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with bath and shower over. Adjoining the twin bedroom is a shower room with an electric corner shower, wc, wash basin, a heated towel rail, shaver point and a large mirror.  Bed linen is included.

Other Things to Note

Unfortunately, we do not allow pets to stay.  We have off road parking available on our front driveway, and our cottage is located close to our award winning caravan park.

Long and short stays are available - please call for more information or to make your booking.

Around and About

There are a number of excellent pub restaurants in nearby Knayton and Borrowby, and the bustling market towns of Thirsk and Northallerton are within easy reach.  The cottage is the perfect western gateway into the North York Moors, just a short distanced from Rievaulx Abbey, Helmsley and the Park's flagship visitor centre near Danby.

Granary Cottage is perfect for year round walking holidays.  A public footpath runs through the farmstead, connecting to a network of public paths and bridleways into the North York Moors and onto the Cleveland Way National Trail.

Take a left turn off the A19 signed for Knayton.  After a 1/4 mile turn right, across the bridge over the A19.  Continue on through the village.  After around 1 1/2 miles our park - Hillside Caravan Park is just on the left.  A note to Sat Nav users - do not turn off the road until you see the entrance to Hillside Caravan Park after about 1 1/2 miles.
