The historic Coach House is a wonderfully stylish and relaxed guest house in the heart of the English Lake District in Windermere. We have a 4 star rating from the AA for quality and comfort, and are a non-smoking establishment throughout. The B&B is an old coach house built in 1890 from Lakeland stone, and retains many original charming features including a weather vane, a round window and a clock housed in the roof. A cosy, comfortable guest sitting area and a light, airy breakfast room/conservatory is open to guests. We also provide packed lunches by arrangement. Stressbuster special 3 night breaks are also available at special rates.
There are plenty of activities for guests to enjoy whilst on holiday in the Lake District. Try your hand at climbing, sailing, caneoing or take to the many trails that cut through the Lakes and explore the area on foor or by bike. Guests can spend a day exploring the quaint town of Windermere or the nearby Ambleside or Kendal. Guests staying more than one night with us also benefit from use of The Old England Leisure Club & Spa, which includes a pool, sauna, steam room and gym for a small extra charge.
Five luxury all en suite rooms are available at the Coach House. All are beautifully decorated, with brightly coloured walls, bedspreads and blinds, and some have antique furniture. Most have cream cast-iron beds. The en-suite shower-rooms echo this mix of the modern and traditional, with high quality showers, black and white floor tiles, chrome fittings and period enamelware. All the rooms have TVs, tea and coffee making facilities, alarm clocks, hair dryers and radios, plus luxury touches such as cotton wool buds/balls and toiletries. Guests can expect a full English breakfast of free range eggs, bacon, country pork sausage, mushrooms and tomatoes or vegetarian sausage or, as an alternative, a continental breakfast of hot croissants and pains au chocolat.
We're perfect for romantic Windermere breaks and offer a Champagne, flowers and chocolates package.
