Jenny and Stuart welcome you to Beech Hill House, which offers spacious, high quality en-suite bed and breakfast accommodation. With many ‘home from home’ comforts, we are dog friendly and open all year round including Christmas and the New Year.
Just off the A590 at Witherslack in an unspoilt corner of the Lake District National Park we are easy to find, and 8 minutes from the M6 J36 making us an ideal base for business users and for stop-overs as you are travelling north and south along the motorway. Our B&B is close to the lakes, yet away from the crowds and the perfect place to stay while visiting and touring the Lake District, Furness Peninsula, the Yorkshire Dales and north Lancashire.
Our three well-appointed individually furnished en-suite rooms are large and spacious with views overlooking the gardens and surrounding countryside. Tastefully decorated and furnished throughout, designed with your comfort in mind, each has a king size bed, flat screen TV with Freesat and a CD/DVD player, CD/DVD library, Wi-Fi, silent mini fridge, hairdryer, well-stocked hospitality basket.
One room has a private balcony with table and chairs, and private access through a garden onto the drive. This is the perfect room for visitors with dogs or people with restricted mobility.
Our south facing en-suite family room has both a king size and a single bed.
Enjoy one of our hearty breakfasts using ingredients where possible from the region’s local suppliers creating fresh food for you to enjoy. We have the choice of a tasty full English Lakeland breakfast, vegetarian or light bites served with a pot of tea or cafétiere of coffee in our conservatory overlooking the gardens.
Our bed and breakfast is totally dog friendly, with dogs, large or small, one or more being most welcome for a small charge. For this we provide a dog bed if required, throw, feeding bowl and a 'goodie basket' with a few essentials and treats.
Our village pub is just a 50 yard walk along the road, serves nice food and lets dogs in. There are also many other nice Lakeland and gastro pubs, restaurants and cafes just a short drive away, many of which allow dogs in.
Please note that we do not accept children under the age of 10.
Our prices are from £70.00 per room per night (2 people sharing). Please see our website for ‘Special Offers’, ‘Discounted rates for multiple night stays’ and ‘Last Minute Availability’ offers.
From the M6 motorway leave at junction 36 and follow the signs for Windermere. After about 2½ miles turn left onto the A590 which is signposted Barrow-in-Furness . Follow the dual carriageway and after a while it turns into an ordinary road. About ½ mile after the speed camera on the ordinary road it turns back into a dual carriageway again. As you approach this dual carriageway go into the right hand lane and turn right (signposted Witherslack / Bowland Bridge / Halecat). Immediately off the dual carriageway you will cross a cattle grid and we are the detached house on the left. If you come to the Derby Arms you've gone too far so turn around and come back the way you came. We are the detached house on the right just before the cattle grid. When on the A590 if you miss the turning when it turns back into the dual carriageway again just keep going to the roundabout. Go round the roundabout and come back along the dual carriageway and our turning is the 1st on the left after the garage.
