This charming Bed and Breakfast property, with free off-road parking for each room, is conveniently situated in Ambleside town centre in the very heart of the English Lake District, Wainwright's Walking Country. The beautiful waters of Windermere, Rydal and Grasmere are within easy walking distance as are the historic homes of Wordsworth, Ruskin and Beatrix Potter.
Each room has been individually styled - as the B&B has been created from an original Lakeland Stone townhouse, so typical of Ambleside, no room is the same shape or size, but we hope that each one is as comfortable, attractive and pleasing as the next! All rooms have either a double or king sized bed, newly refurbished en-suite shower room and flat screen TV. Hospitality trays, hairdryers, wine glasses and corkscrew come as standard. Free wi-fi is available.
Prices include a selection of breakfast choices now including pancakes and a fishy alternative.
Please note that we only accept children over ten years old and do not have provisions for extra beds in guest rooms.
No stag/ hen parties.
If driving from the SOUTH, take Junction 36 off the M6 motorway. Follow signs for Windermere and then Ambleside.
From the NORTH, take Junction 40 off the M6 motorway. Follow signs for Keswick. As you pass Threlkeld, look for signs very soon after for Thirlmere and Grasmere. Turn left here on to the B5322 (St. Johns in the Vale). After passing Grasmere, follow the signs to Ambleside - about 4 miles.
Ambleside has a one-way traffic system. When you pass The White Lion Pub on the left hand side, you should take the next right between Gregg`s Cake Shop and The Royal Oak Pub onto Church Street. Hillsdale is situated at the bottom of the street, the last but one on the right hand side.
