Situated in 200 acres of peaceful parkland, Swinton Hall has been owned by the Cunliffe-Lister family since the 1880's and retains much of the period grandeur associated with a traditional English house. We offer a luxuriously appointed range of double and twin guest rooms along with a two bedroom family suite. All are set on the first and second floors and well equipped with a generous size bathroom, direct dial telephone, modem points, flat screen TV, CD player, trouser press, tea/ coffee making facilities and Raisthorpe Manor Sloe Gin. Samuel's Restaurant was built as part of the estate in 1880 and offers beautiful views over the gardens and lake. The restaurant has been featured in numerous publications including The Sunday Times & Harden’s ‘Top 100 Restaurants of 2014 – The Best Places to Eat in the UK. We aim to serve a range of seasonal and local produce including fruit, vegetables and herbs from our four acre garden. We also serve rabbit, venison, trout and game from our 20,000 acre estate. Lighter meals, bar snacks, afternoon tea and vegetarian options are available. We host regular al fresco barbecues in the parkland and can provide picnics/ hampers if you are heading out on a walk or romantic afternoon.
All of our 31 guest rooms have space for a cot and we have a two bedroom family suite with one double and one twin bedroom. We can also provide high chairs, bottle warmers, baby bath-time products, teddy bear, bibs, spoons and wipes. Babysitting can be arranged with prior notice. We have a children's menu in the restaurant and children up to the age of eight can dine in Samuel's Restaurant except in the evenings.
Family activities to enjoy include boules, croquet, kite-flying, falconry, walking, nature trails, riding, pottery, baking, farm days and cookery events. We also have a snooker room with adjoining children's play area.
We offer rates for both bed and breakfast and dinner, bed and breakfast stays. Please note that a two night minimum stay usually applies to DB&B bookings and B&B rates are not available on Friday and Saturday night bookings.
For bookings on a Sunday or Monday night, a special 'Long Weekender' B&B rate from £165 per night applies (excludes Valentine's Day).
We have a family suite with cots and children's Z beds supplied on request. Children up to 12 years old are charged at £35 per night including breakfast.
Dogs are welcome and charged at £25 per dog per night with dog beds provided. Please note that they are not permitted in public areas or to be left unattended in guest rooms.
Check in time is from 3pm pm and check out time is by 11am on the morning of your departure.
