Welcome to The Old Forge Cottages near Pickering. Situated on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, our two well appointed properties date from the early 18th century and have been lovingly converted to provide quality holiday accommodation ideal for couples or small families. The amenities of Thornton le Dale are one and a half miles away and we are also located four miles from the attractions of Pickering.
Created out of the formers stables of the village forge, Anvil and Horseshoe Cottages offer comfortable self catering accommodation and each property has a mezzanine level double bedroom. Other features in each property include a ground floor bathroom with overhead shower and a modern kitchen which is well equipped with an electric cooker, washer/ dryer, slow cooker and coffee machine. There is a contemporary leather sofa in each lounge area, a TV and a foldaway dining table which can seat two.
Each cottage has an attractive outdoor seating area with table and chairs. There is also car parking provided for your use.

Short breaks of three or four nights are welcome in our self catering accommodation. The cottages are suitable for up to two adults and one infant.
We also offer four star bed and breakfast accommodation onsite with two spacious doubles and one twin guest room available. Our rates include a breakfast made from locally sourced ingredients and start from £150 for two people for a two night stay.
Our cottages are ideal for trips on the scenic North Yorkshire Moors Railway, cycle rides in Dalby Forest or days out to the Yorkshire coast towns of Scarborough and Whitby. Alternatively, enjoy a historical day out to the Castle Howard which is one of Yorkshire's finest houses or Eden Camp Modern History Theme Museum.
From Scarborough direction
On the A170 westwards Wilton is the next village after Allerston. About 100 metres after the Wilton Village sign you will see a turning to the village on your left, and a narrow track on your right just before The Old Forge sign. Take the track and turn almost immediately left through the white gates into the cobbled courtyard.
From Pickering direction
Take the A170 towards Scarborough and go through Thornton- Le- Dale. After approximately one and a half miles you will see the village sign for Wilton, and The Old Forge is about 200 metres on your left opposite the road into the village. Take the narrow lane at the side of The Old Forge, then immediately left through the white gates into the cobbled courtyard.
