Brimming with heritage charm and character, the guest house is a former Victorian Methodist chapel with stunning gardens and makes the perfect base for exploring Cornwall. We are only a short drive from spectacular beaches and the pretty fishing village Mevagissey around St Austell Bay. Delicious full Cornish breakfast and a range of lighter hot and cold breakfast options are included in booking, with special diets including vegetarian and gluten free choice available.
Our five beautiful guest rooms are mostly en-suite and many retain original chapel features with free Wi-Fi inclusive and colour TVs with Freeview, alarm clocks, hair dryers and tea/ coffee making facilities in all rooms. Room 1 is a spacious dual aspect double room with a unique full height chapel window and large modern en-suite shower room. Room 2 is a double room with an en-suite shower room and original chapel roof and archway features. Our third room is a King Sized double room, featuring a stunning full height barrel ceiling and a newly added en-suite shower room. Luxurious Room 4 is a superior double room with a spacious deluxe en-suite shower, a charming traditional double bed, original chapel architectural features and two comfy sofas. This room is ideal for couples and families alike, with full sized single day beds happily provided on request to accommodate up to 4 guests – perfect for a family group. Our fifth guest room is wonderfully homely and ideal for those with limited mobility. This room is a fully wheelchair accessible ground floor twin room with an adapted en-suite wet room featuring grab rails, a lowered sink and a folding shower seat.
Bed linen and towels are provided on your arrival and there is free off road parking outside the property. Our delicious Full Cornish breakfast is a favourite with guests but there are many options available each morning including scrambled eggs made with salmon, organic porridge, kippers or omelettes. Vegetarian options are always available and we are able to cater for other dietary requirements with notification.

Take the A30 until you come to the turn off for St Austell via the A391. (There is a slip road leading to a pair of roundabouts above the dual carriageway.) Take the first exit (the A391) following the signs for St Austell and the Eden Project. Follow this road through Lockengates and into Bugle. Go straight on at the traffic lights in the village and then on through Stenalees until you come to a roundabout. Take the second exit from the roundabout onto the B3274, signposted Carthew and China Clay Country Park. The Chapel Guest House is approximately ¾ mile along this road on the right hand side. If you are entering Cornwall on the A38, follow this road almost into Bodmin, where it meets the A30. Join the A30 and follow the directions above.
