About this Hotel

Originally a coaching inn and coffee house, the Alyth Hotel offers visitors a true taste of Scotland both in its hospitality and dining. Set in the market square of the charming Highland village of Alyth you'll find the hotel is a relaxing base for an activity holiday or a peaceful and romantic break.

Bedrooms / Bathrooms

All our comfortable and tastefully decorated rooms have en-suite facilities, a TV, trouser press and a generous hospitality tray. We have doubles, twins, triples and family rooms. 


When you're off exploring the glens and peaks or going for a round of golf, you need a hearty Scottish breakfast to set you up for the day and we provide a tasty, freshly cooked meal using only the best local produce. If you any special dietary requirements, please let us know.

James Sandy Restaurant

With an mouthwatering bar snack and dinner menu you're sure to find something to your taste.  All meals are freshly prepared and include some authentic local specialities, complemented by a glass of wine from our extensive cellar. 

Falconers Lounge Bar

Offers a good range of beers, spirits and wines, as well as a selection of over 30 malt and single malt whiskies. You can play a game of darts or pool, or just sit and enjoy sporting events on the High Definition TV with Sky satellite channels.

Availability and check in

Call us for details about golfing breaks and holidays, we  also offer a range of weekend and short breaks. You can check in from 14:00. You need to check out by 10:00.

Around and About

Situated above Strathmore, Alyth is well located for exploring the wonderful countryside and the outdoor attractions of the Grampian Highlands, Perthshire and Angus. A little further afield is Perth and Dundee.

For golf enthusiasts - there are many leading courses close by or within a short drive, providing interesting challenges, amazing experiences and value for money.


By Car: (From Edinburgh) Take the M90 Motorway north, across the Forth Road Bridge. This road briefly becomes the A90. Continue on this road and then follow the M90 to the outskirts of Perth. Take the A94 to Coupar Angus, then take the A923 to Blairgowrie, and then the A926 to Alyth.
By Car (From Glasgow) Take the M80 Motorway, North towards Stirling. This road becomes the A80. Take the M9 Motorway (which becomes the A9) past Sterling and up to the outskirts of Perth, then follow the route described above.
By Car: from Dundee Take the A923 through Coupar Angus to Blairgowrie, then follow the route described above.
By Car: (From Aberdeen) Take the A90 South, towards Perth, then take the A923 directly to Alyth.
