Situated in the heart of a peaceful Yorkshire woodland just twenty minutes drive from York, Jollydays is a unique tented camp offering well appointed glamping accommodation ideal for couples, families and groups. Lit by paraffin lanterns and candlelight, our fifteen acre site provides the ideal opportunity to holiday close to the sounds and rhythms of nature whilst enjoying modern facilities including hot showers, wood burner stoves, barbecues, kitchens, toilets and beds.
All tents are located in the same woodland but are situated at least twenty metres apartment. We currently have seven Deluxe tents, eight Luxury lodge tents, five Bell tents and two Superior bell tents. We also have our cosy Woodcutters Hut which is insulated, double glazed and boasts a warming wood burner stove. The occupancy for each accommodation type is as follows:
Our Superior bell tents have a spacious living area of six metres by four metres with a wood burner stove and to the exterior of each, there is a large canvas awning which provides drying space/ an additional lounging area. The Lodge Tents also have a wood burner stove and we also provide a barbecue, well equipped kitchen and a verandah where you can relax. Our Deluxe tents are furnished in vintage style and each accommodation includes a large living area surrounding the wood burner, a bathroom cabin, kitchen with fridge and a verandah with barbecue. The Woodcutters Hut was new for 2014 and measures six metres by three metres. There is a huge awning ideal for all year round barbecues, a small wood burner stove, a cool box and two gas rings.
Lodge tents and Deluxe tents have their own toilet with shower/ roll top bath. Woodcutter Huts and Superior bell tents enjoy use of a shared facilities with instant hot water and powerful showers. Each tent/ hut has all kitchen utensils provided, access to water pipe, a paraffin lantern plus an allocation of candles and wood.
We can provide breakfast baskets for during your stay with meat and vegetarian options for two, four or six people. Locally sourced three course supper baskets can also be provided but please note four days notice is required. Evening catering can be arranged for groups or if you prefer to go DIY, in addition to the facilities provided within each accommodation we have a clay pizza oven onsite.
Cakes, hot drinks and snacks are available in the Tea Tent which is operated on an honesty basis. The tent is an ideal meeting point for groups during their stay and also contains a choice of informative books on the local wildlife. Other facilities include The Log Store and shop which is open from 9-10am and 4-5pm each day. This is also run on an honesty basis and has a range of little lanterns, candles, sweets, cushions, toothbrushes and rain-caps.
Jollydays is a unique base for a woodland wedding whether you are planning a bohemian bash, channeling a festival vibe or a indulging in a posh tea party extravaganza. Group activities can be arranged for during your stay with us and we welcome families, corporate events, hen parties and special celebrations including birthdays.
Groups are welcome but please note that during school holidays, we only cater for couples and family groups unless the booking is for the whole site. Our changeover day for weekly stays is a Friday or Monday and we accept the following short breaks (seasonality/ peak time restrictions may apply): Three night weekend deals, two night weekend deals starting on a Friday or Saturday, four night mid week breaks starting on a Monday, two person midweek deals starting on a Monday or Wednesday and Sunday one night stays. One night Friday or Saturday bookings are not accepted at any time.
We do not accepts pets at Jollydays (except guide dogs) due to the surrounding wildlife.
The nearest pub to the site is at Stamford Bridge which is just one mile away. Other nearby facilities (within two miles) include an award winning farm shop and convenience store. A 24 hour supermarket is a fifteen minute drive away and some major supermarkets will deliver to the site. Nearby attractions to visit during your stay include Castle Howard, Eden Camp, Flamingo Land Theme Park and Dalby Forest. We are also well placed to exploring the Yorkshire Wolds, North York Moors National Park or take a trip to the beautiful Yorkshire coast which is a 45 minute drive away.
We are located in the largest county in the United Kingdom and only 20 minutes drive from the historic town of York. Situated near the undiscovered Yorkshire wolds the woodland is a haven of peace and tranquility to allow you to escape the troubles of urban life.
