Welcome to The Knole Farm Bed and Breakfast near Okehampton. Situated in 200 acres of farmland in the north west of Dartmoor National Park, our charming Victorian farmhouse is easily accessible from the nearby A30 and M5 with the beautiful North Cornish coast also set within an hours drive. Pony trekking, golf, sailing and hiking can all be enjoyed in the surrounding area. Families are welcome and we are also dog friendly by prior arrangement.
The Sourton Room is a delightful king size guest room which offers lovely views over the front lawns. Our second room, The Brentor Room, is a versatile double and twin bedded room which can be used as a double, twin or family room as desired. The room overlooks Brentor Church, gardens and has a bathroom with separate walk in shower and bath. The Jubilee Room is an east facing room with double and single bed. This can be booked as double, twin or triple accommodation and we have a final single room with ensuite bathroom.
All guest rooms are well equipped with a hospitality tray, digital TV, hair dryers, central heating, super soft towels and a fridge with fresh milk. Ironing facilities and electric blankets can be provided on request.
Our breakfast menu includes a large range of cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt and juices. Other options include porridge, a full cooked farmhouse breakfast or a choice of eggs on toast with bacon, grilled tomato and mushrooms. Speciality dishes include grilled kippers, salmon fish cakes with a choice of eggs and boiled eggs with white or wholemeal toast. We serve a great range of teas including fruit and herbal infusions plus fresh cafetiere coffee. We offer locally sourced produce where possible and our eggs are free range. Breakfast is served between 8.30am and 9am with earlier times available by arrangement.
We also serve a choice of two or three course evening meals at 6.30pm Monday to Saturday. Please note we do not have a table license but you are welcome to bring your own wine to dinner. A selection of teas and coffees are served in the lounge or conservatory after your evening meal.
There is plenty of off road parking and we can also offer free transport to the local pub if needed. We also have Wi-Fi service available for your use.
A one night stay is £35 B&B per person which is discounted to £32pppn for longer stays. One well behaved dog is accepted per family at an extra charge of £5 per day. Please note they are not permitted in the downstairs rooms and must sleep in their own basket, not on beds.
The local market town of Okehampton is seven miles away and we are also just one mile from open moorland walks. Widemouth Bay can be reached in around a forty minute drive and we are two miles from Lydford with its beautiful gorge, dramatic walks and famous waterfalls including 'The White Lady Falls'. The amenities and attractions of Tavistock are eight miles away and we are also close to the World Heritage Site of Morwellham Quay which featured on the BBC show 'Edwardian Farm'.
For our vistors from North of Exeter, leave the A30 dual carriageway at Sourton Cross and join the A386 to Tavistock, about 3 miles further, turn right at the fox and hounds pub onto the B3278 - signposted Bridstowe, over the hump - backed bridge passing through the beautiful group of matured beech trees lining your route. Continue until you find a signpost marked (Coryton) and turn left.
The Knole is about 80 yards along on the right. The entrance is signposted.
