Five star and Silver award winning Colcharton Farm B&B offers guests luxurious and beautifully appointed farmhouse accommodation situated only two miles west of Tavistock. Dating back to the 16th century, this was once an Elizabethan longhouse and it still retains many original features including bell pulls, granite steps and even a Bible cupboard in the kitchen. The guest house is peacefully situated in the beautiful Tamar Valley, with fields, trees and lovely country lanes teeming with wild flowers in spring. We're the ideal base for touring and exploring Devon and Cornwall with guests able to enjoy stunning views of The Dartmoor National Park.
We offer a choice of three en-suite and elegant rooms including The Drake which is named after Sir Francis Drake, a visitor to Colcharton in the 16th Century. This large en-suite room has a queen size oak bed and a grand Victorian roll top bath. The Dartmoor is named for its stunning countryside views and it features an 1850-style Victorian bed. Our final room is The Tavy which has twin beds, views of the paddock field and a large double shower. All our rooms include a flat screen TV, towels and bath robes, luxury Cole & Lewis toiletries, fresh flowers and free Wi-Fi.
Children are welcome to the farmhouse at reduced rates, but regretfully no dogs are allowed. The farm is a non smoking establishment and for guests’ convenience we have a large parking area for cars. Why not relax in the large lounge, and enjoy the glow and smell of the log fire in winter, complete with Freeview TV and DVD player.
Our home-produced farmhouse cooking has helped us receive the prestigious Breakfast Award. We serve full English or continental options in a period dining room on a traditional oak dining suite.
