Around and About

Middle Farm Cottages are just a 10 minute drive from the towns of Bakewell and Buxton, and the area is popular with walkers and cyclists. There are also a number of outdoor activities available nearby, as well as local villages for picking up essentials.

Directions

M1 from the North / South: Leave the M1 at junction 29. Take the A619 towards Chesterfield. At the end of the dual carriageway take the 2nd exit on the island following signs for Bakewell on the A619. After approximately 15 miles, you will enter Bakewell. From Bakewell follow the A6 in a northwesterly direction towards Buxton.

After two miles you bypass Ashford in the Water on your right, the road follows the course of the river for about another two miles and then starts to climb its way uphill through a wooded dale. Just about a ¼ mile before a section of dual carriageway begins you will see the signpost for Brushfield on you right. Take this single-track road up the hillside and negotiate the rising hairpin bend. After ¼ mile you come to a Y junction. Bear left at this point, drive between the grit-stone gateposts and turn immediately right. The Cottages are on your left.

M6 from the South / South: Leave the M6 at junction 19. Take the A537 to Macclesfield via Knutsford. Continue on the A537(Cat & Fiddle Road) & A54 to Buxton. From Buxton follow the A6 in a southeasterly direction for about 5 miles. A section of dual carriageway bypasses the village of Taddington on your right. The turn off for Brushfield is signposted on the left about ¼ mile after the end of the dual carriageway section.

Take this single-track road up the hillside and negotiate the rising hairpin bend. After ¼ mile you come to a Y junction. Bear left at this point, drive between the grit-stone gateposts and turn immediately right. The Cottages are on your left.
