About this Holiday Cottage

Originally built for fishermen, this charming terraced cottage has been renovated to offer comfortable and spacious accommodation for groups of up to six people. It has been restored to retain much of its original charm, utilising exposed beams, stripped floor-boards and a cast-iron range to imbue it with traditional Yorkshire character. Each of the three bedrooms benefits from spectacular sea views and a front patio offers ample opportunity for a spot of al fresco dining in the hazy summer months.

Inside

Three bedrooms: 1 x ground floor double (no window), 1 x 2nd floor double with sea views, 1 x 2nd floor single with additional pull-out bed & sea views. 2nd floor bathroom with bath, shower over, basin & WC. First floor kitchen with cast iron range, dining area & sea views. Ground floor sitting room with gas flame-effect stove & doors to front patio. Additional first floor sitting room, off kitchen.

Other Things to Note

Gas central heating with gas stove. Electric oven/hob, microwave, fridge, washer/dryer, dishwasher, TV, video, DVD/CD. All fuel & power inc. in rent. Bed linen inc. in rent. Public car park 100 yards (guests can load/unload near property). Small patio at front with furniture. Sorry, no pets & no smoking. Shop, pub & beach 2 mins walk. Around and About

Perhaps the best known of the villages near to Whitby is Robin Hood's Bay. Situated at the bottom of a very steep hill and surrounded by vertical cliffs, it is one of the most charismatic and remote settlements on the Yorkshire coast and has a fascinating and colourful past. Originally an isolated fishing village, Robin Hood's Bay became infamous as the most active smuggling centre on the North Yorkshire coast. At low tide, 1800 feet of exposed sea-floor makes for great fossil hunting, rock-pooling and exploring. You can walk to nearby Ravenscar at low tide when the three miles of beach are exposed. Nearby attractions include Whitby, with its ancient Abbey and evening ‘ghost walks', Scarborough with all the fun of a seaside town and the city of York, which has a huge range of attractions for visitors of all ages.

The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.
