About this Holiday Cottage

This lovely single storeybarn conversion is located in the pretty hamlet of Southwitton, only ten miles from the historic town of Morpeth. The lawned garden and patio area offer a great al fresco dining space for warm summer evenings, set against the picturesque backdrop of the Northumbrian countryside. Within easy driving distance of a variety of great tourist attractions, and local amenities, this cottage is a great base for families or a group of friends to explore the glorious region of Northumberland.


All ground floor. Two bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x twin. Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. Open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with open fire and access to patio and garden.

Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot, toddler bed and highchair on request. Off road parking for 2 cars. Shared enclosed lawned garden with patio, furniture and BBQ. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shops and pubs 3 miles.

Around and About

The former farming hamlet of Southwitton is situated close to Scots Gap village, offering both a village shop and fantastic country store. Only five miles away from the National Trust property of Wallington Hall - with its associated gift shops, tea rooms and farm shop selling local produce - this lovely little settlement is surrounded by incredible panoramic views of the Rothley Craggs. Rothley Folly, another National Trust property is nearby and can be seen from the hamlet. Other historic attractions include the village of Meldon and its thirteenth century church. At only three miles away, this is great place to walk to along pretty country lanes. Morpeth is only ten miles away and is set along the course of the River Wansbeck, offering various pubs, restaurants and shops.

Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian's Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.
