Wonderfully renovated throughout, Ael y Bryn is a superbly appointed 19th century cottage set at the foot of Newport Castle and within easy reach of the beach and coastal walks. Ideal for families, walkers or golfers, the property was originally built to house the manager of the local woolen mill and has a unique stencilled wall decoration in the hall and landing.
The lounge has exposed beams and a warming log fire set in the original fireplace. There is also a TV, comfy sofas plus a second sitting room with seating, books, games, a CD player and radio. The large open plan kitchen/ diner is well appointed with a gas cooker, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. There is a dining table seating six plus a breakfast bar. The utility area houses the freezer, an extra fridge, washing machine along with drying and storage space. The ground floor also has a WC.
Double doors lead out from the side garden with table, chairs and plenty of space for a barbecue. There is also a raised grass area (small children should be supervised) and this space boasts lovely sea-views.
There is parking for three cars plus storage space for bikes, kayaks etc. We can also arrange boat mooring for during your stay by prior arrangement.
A Welsh welcome pack is provided for your arrival. The rental charge includes heating, electric, towels (except beach towels) and a supply of logs for the stove.
We can also supply a cot and high chair but please bring your own cot bedding.
Short breaks may be available except in peak times. Please note that we do not accept pets.
