About this Bed and Breakfast

Rated 'Excellent' by reviewers, Meadhon House Bed and Breakfast in Jedburgh offers a warm Scottish Borders welcome and is a mere 100 metres from the historic town centre.  The Abbey, the old castle gaol and Mary Queen of Scots House are all a short stroll away, and the B&B is perfectly placed for exploring the Border towns.  All our guest rooms have fabulous views across the town and we have a variety room types including double, twin and family rooms.  Free WiFi internet access and secure bike storage are also available.

The house is one of the oldest in Castlegate, dating from 1653.  The property has unique links with Scotland's great poet Robert Burns.  A young muse of Robert Burns, a Miss Cruickshank, visited the house as a new bride.  She was the poet's inspirtation for 'A rosebud by my early walk' and 'A beauteous rosebud young and gay'.  Bonnie Prince Charlie also used the guest house on his ride south in 1745.
