About this Bed and Breakfast

Coddy's Farm Bed and Breakfast with onsite farm shop and tearooms sits in a stunning rural location in the Yorkshire Pennines near Holmfirth, close to the Peak District National Park border.  Our working farm has wonderful views across the Holme Valley and guests have the opportunity to learn a new skill on our Experience Days with seasonal cookery and butchery courses available.  Group bookings are welcome and courses can be tailored to your group's particular budget and interests (pre-booking required).  Host Andrew will also happily give guests a 'muddy boots' tour of the farm - a great opportunity for children to meet and greet friendly farm animals.

Guest Rooms

Eight bed and breakfast rooms are housed in our traditional stone barn, formerly a mistal and sheep shed which has been beautifully restored.  Accommodation has underfloor heating throughout, powered by our ground source heat pump.

Each bedroom is named after a local reservoir and all rooms have private ensuite facilities with a shower, wc and wash basin, complimentary toiletries, a hairdryer, a full length mirror, tea and coffee making facilities, biscuits and Freeview TV.

Our eight rooms include:

  • Winscar - a spacious super king double with a sleigh bed and a private ensuite with a double ended bath and shower over.  Book Winscar either as a double room for 2 or a family room sleeping up to 4.
  • Ramsden and Yateholme - spacious king-size double rooms both with private ensuite facilities.  These rooms are available as double or family rooms sleeping 2 adults and 2 children on put up beds.  Ramsden is on the ground floor with ensuite wet room and wider doors affording easy access for wheelchair users.  Yateholme is a character first floor room with original exposed beams.
  • Bilbery and Digley - our quirky loft suites with sloping ceilings and their own separate seating and king-size double sleeping areas.  Each has private ensuite facilities and velux windows opening out to fabulous views of the Holme Valley towards Bilbery and Digley reservoirs.
  • Holme Styes and Riding Wood - super king-size double rooms both with beds which can be split as a twin room if preferred.  These rooms include private ensuite facilities with a shower.  Riding Wood is on the first floor with a high ceiling featuring original beams.  Holme Styes is a standard room on the ground floor.
  • Snailsden - a first floor king-size double room with private ensuite containing a shower.  This room also has high ceilings with original exposed beams.

Freshly prepared breakfasts containing locally sourced ingredients and our own farm produce are served every morning in our spacious open plan dining room which has spectacular views of the Holme Valley.

Farm Shop & Tearooms

Here at Coddy's Farm we are passionate about food, farming and best local produce.  The farm has been in our family for three generations and is home to herds of Aberdeen Angus and Dexter cattle, sheep, pigs and our flock of free range laying hens.

Enjoy the delicious taste of our farm produce in our tearooms open 9.30am to 3pm Wednesday to Sunday, and purchase our fresh farm produce in our farm shop open Wednesday to Sunday.  Find out more on our website.

Experience Days

Our pre-booked Experience Days take place regularly through the year and showcase the very best of our local produce.  Farm tours, food demonstrations and seasonal cookery lessons all form part of the experience.

We also open our farm gates to the public during lambing season offering visitors the opportunity to bottle feed our lambs.  Group tours and school visits are welcome.

Celebrations/ Meetings

The farm is perfect for all kinds of celebrations, family gatherings and meetings.  The dining area can seat up to 24 guests and evening meals can be pre-booked for groups - please call us direct to discuss your group party requirements and menus.

Rooms are available on a Bed and Breakfast basis all year round, except during the festive Christmas and New Year season when we offer accommodation on a self-catering basis - ideal for large group gatherings.

Discounts apply for longer stays - take advantage of our 15% discount on stays from 5 to 10 nights, and save £15 per night on midweek 2 to 4 night short breaks.  Book a 2 or 3 night weekend break and save £10 per night.

Check-in is from 4pm and check-out is by 10.30am.  Guests are welcome to store their luggage earlier by prior arrangement.

Around and About

Holmfirth and the surrounding Peaks and Pennines offer a host of attractions and things to do.  Explore Summer Wine Country in and around Holmfirth, visit the nearby Standedge Tunnel on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal or head off on scenic walks around local reservoirs or in the Peak District.

The Pennine Way is just on our doorstep and the Marsden Moor Estate is nearby.  For fun family friendly cycling head to the nearby Transpennine trail.

Holmfirth hosts weekly markets every Thursday and Saturday (where you can also pick up our local produce).  Why not join us for Holmfirth's annual Food and Drink Festival every September.

The farm sits in the beautiful Holme Valley.  From Holmfirth head along the A6024 (signposted for Manchester) to Hinchliffe Mill for approximately 1 mile.

Continue past the Stumble Inn on the right, and take a left down Co-op Lane signed for Holmfirth Vineyard.  Continue along the road past the school and vineyard until you reach the T junction at the top of the hill.

Take a right turn at the junction and Coddy's Farm is the first farm on the right hand side.
