The East Wing near Thirsk is a brand new, beautifully appointed country cottage attached to our family farmhouse, The Grange. The cottage comfortably sleeps 5 adults and 2 children, and sits in a stunning rural location in the hamlet of Balk at the foothills of the North York Moors. The property enjoys spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and Sutton Bank.
York, Harrogate, the Yorkshire Dales and the free entry Sutton Bank National Park visitor centre are all within easy reach. Numerous walking, cycling and horse riding opportunities are available in the surrounding area, and the cottage is a mere 3.5 miles from the market town of Thirsk.
Two garden areas surround the cottage with garden furniture provided and ample space for games and picnics.
An outbuilding is ideal for bike and outdoor equipment storage and parking space is adjacent. Guests have direct access onto public footpaths from the cottage.
Short breaks (minimum 3 night stays) are available.

The cottage is located on our family farm, The Grange, a mostly arable farm but we also keep a flock of Texel sheep and a herd of pedigree Beef Shorthorn cattle.
Pretty nearby villages include Kilburn (3 miles) and Coxwold. The farm is only 3.5 miles from Thirsk, and a short drive from York (22 miles), Harrogate (21 miles) and the Dales. The nearby North York Moors National Park offers a wealth of walking, cycling and horse riding opportunities.
Popular nearby attractions include the Mouseman Visitor Centre at Kilburn where you can find out about Yorkshire's famous White Horse hill carving.
The World of James Herriot Museum at Thirsk, Lightwater Valley Theme Park, Monk Park Farm, Thirsk Racecourse and Outdoor Activity/ Trekking Centres are all within easy reach.
