About Orchard House

Detached Orchard House is situated in the tranquil Cumbrian village of Greystoke near Penrith, perfect for touring the Lake District, the North Pennines and the Eden Valley.  Spacious accommodation is perfect for families and friends sharing, appointed to a high standard throughout and sleeping six guests in three bedrooms.  Ample private driveway parking is available and the property has large gardens to the front and the rear.  A welcome pack is also available on arrival.  In the village you will find a friendly local inn, a well-stocked village shop with post office, a church and an outdoor swimming pool which is open during the summer season.

Accommodation

  • The interior of this holiday home has a character 'upside-down' design.
  • The first floor lounge area accessed via a hardwood staircase has great views of the local church and surrounding countryside.
  • The lounge features comfortable sofas and a 32 inch LCD TV with Sky+, a DVD and a selection of DVDs.  Glass French doors lead out to a balcony overlooking the pretty rear lawn garden below.
  • An upstairs generously sized Master bedroom has a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom.  This bedroom also has wonderful views.
  • Downstairs is a twin and double bedroom, and a modern bathroom with a bath, shower, wash basin and wc.
  • Spacious fully fitted kitchen/ dining area with an electric cooker, a microwave, fridge, freezer and a washer/ dryer.

Outside

To the front of the house there is a well maintained lawn garden and to the rear there is a large lawn garden which is enclosed and ideal for children's play.  A patio area with outdoor furniture is also available and ample parking for several cars is on the private driveway.

Around and About

The village of Greystoke is conveniently located, easily accessed off the M6, Junction 40 and just a 10 minute drive from the market town of Penrith where you can find a good choice of fine inns, independent shops and restaurants.  The nearby Boot & Shoe inn serves excellent Lakeland real ale and delicious home cooked food.  The house is a great base for walking and touring the North Lakes, just a short distance from Troutbeck, Ullswater, Blencathra and Keswick.
