Around and About

Thornton-le-Dale village is a real Yorkshire gem, home to the much photographed Beck Isle Cottage, and featuring a great selection of inns, cafes, an ice cream parlour and quirky venues including a chocolate factory.

Ideal as a southern gateway into the North York Moors, the village sits close to Pickering and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (10 minute drive).  Other popular nearby attractions include Flamingo Land theme park (15 minutes), Eden Camp military and social history museum (10 minute drive) and the spectacular Castle Howard Estate (20 minute drive).

Cycling and walking trails, and the Go Ape Activity Centre in Dalby Forest are a short distance away.  Whitby, Scarborough and the Yorkshire Coast are also within easy driving distance - the bungalow sits just off the A170 Scarborough to Pickering road.
