Located on the edge of the village, Ball Cottage is a traditional 17th Century cottage, with many original features - making it the ideal place to base your holiday to the countryside. The interior of this rural cottage makes for the perfect home away from home, with wood and tile floors, an open fire and a cosy sitting area with Sky enabled TV and DVD player.
The kitchen is fully- equipped with all the appliances you may need to use during your stay, including an electric cooker, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, kettle, toaster, and a coffee-maker. There is also cookware, kitchen utensils and cutlery and crockery.
Ball Cottage has three delightful bedrooms- two doubles and one twin. The bathroom has a bath with spray attachment, heated towel rail and a shaving point.
The extensive gardens surrounding Ball Cottage are private and enclosed, with a river flowing through. Relax and dine outside on the picnic table and cook on the barbecue. We advise that young children should be supervised by the river and the steps down to the grassy area.
No pets allowed. Strictly no smoking. Check in from 3pm, check out before 10.30am. Guests should be aware that there is no mobile phone signal in Winsford, however there is a public payphone just a short walk down the road from the cottage. There is also a payphone in the utility room where you can call 999, but it does not take operator calls. There is a parking space for guests' cars at the opposite side of the road, as well as the barn, which can double as a garage. Free WiFi.
Please note that guests will be asked to pre- authorise the sum of £40 on your credit/debit card, however this will only be debited should the owner find damage at the property.
Guests' can find provisions such as tea, coffee, sugar, soap, toilet roll and cleaning materials for use at the cottage. For younger children, a cot and high chair are available, however please let us know if you require these when you make your booking, so it can be arranged. Please bring your own bed linen for the cot.
During peak periods, the cottage is available for week- long breaks, and shorter breaks may be available during the quieter months.
Ball Cottage is just a short walk from the centre of Winsford, where you can find many local amenities such as the thatched Royal Oak Inn, which served delicious pub food and dates back to the 12th Century.
A further 4 miles away is the village of Wheddon Cross, which has a mini- supermarket, cash machine, Post Office and petrol station. Nearby Dulverton has some popular restaurants, a butchers and independent shops.
