This charming detached bungalow sits on the outskirts of the village of Porlock, and is the perfect place to escape city life and unwind with your family and friends. Built in the 1920's, the cottage offers enviable views of the Bristol Channel and is fully furnished with everything you may need during your stay.
The cosy sitting room boasts a cosy open fire (logs provided,) 2 comfy sofas and a TV, DVD player and DAB Radio. Next door, you can find an open plan kitchen/ dining area, with an electric cooker and hob, as well as a washing machine, kettle, toaster, and various kitchen utensils. Halsecombe Cottage also has a pantry for extra storage, and a microwave, fridge and freezer.
This cosy traditional cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms- one double and one twin- perfect for a family exploring the countryside on their holidays.
Halsecombe Cottage is the perfect retreat for walkers, as the 3/4 acre garden leads directly into nearby woodlands and onto the moor. A further mile away is a Porlock Weir coastal path. In the garden, there is a wooden bench and some garden furniture, surrounded by beautiful primroses and daffodils in the spring.
Strictly non- smoking. Well behaved dogs are welcome via prior arrangement, for a fee of £25. Please don't leave your dogs alone in the cottage at any time, and do not allow them on the furniture. Just below the property, there is secure parking for two cars. Arrive after 3pm, depart by 11am.
Items that are provided for guests include washing up liquid, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, biscuits, salt, pepper and a few toilet rolls. Also included are good quality Egyptian cotton bed linen, duvets, towels and blankets. However, please supply your own towels for day trips. Free WiFi.
Also, due to the steep garden and steps, we recommend that this cottage is not appropriate for anyone with limited mobility, or young children or the elderly.
During peak periods, Halsecombe Cottage is available for Saturday- to- Saturday weekly lets. During other times, shorter breaks of 3 or 4 nights may be available.
The village of Porlock is the closest village, and most of the amenities you will need during your stay can be found here- there are three pubs, two grocery shops, a Post Office, chemist, traditional butcher, petrol station, cash machine, hardware store and a wide variety of independent shops.
