Situated in the popular coastal town of Weymouth, Barne’s Rest is a tastefully decorated Victorian bed and breakfast just a short stroll from the town centre.
Our three en-suite rooms are the ideal base for a short break, complete with free Wi-Fi access, Smart TV’s and a huge range of delicious breakfast options served in our dining room each morning.
We are an ideal base for cyclists and windsurfers with secure outdoor storage for equipment.
Tastefully decorated throughout, our three guest rooms have modern en-suite bathrooms with shower facilities. Rooms comprise a Super king on the first floor and two doubles on the second floor.
All rooms are equipped with a smart TV, a well stocked refreshment tray, a hairdryer, alarm clock and complimentary toiletries.
Room 1 (Super King Room) can also be made available as a twin room on request.
Breakfast is served in our bright and spacious ground floor dining room each morning and includes a self serve buffet with cereals, fruits, toast and beverages followed by a cooked breakfast.
Cooked options include a traditional Full English breakfast or a range of lighter cooked breakfasts such as scrambled egg, salmon and vegetarian breakfasts.
If you have any special dietary requirements please let us know in advance.
High quality Egyptian bed linen and towels are provided on your arrival.
We have our own peaceful garden and patio area available for guests to use in the warmer months and there is nearby on road parking for those bringing a car.
We have ironing facilities at the guest house and a cot for our younger guests.
Check in is available from 4pm and we may be able to arrange an earlier check in with prior notification. Please note that rooms must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure.
During the low season, we are happy to offer single night breaks from Monday to Friday. Please contact us for further information.
Weymouth is home to many attractions and events which run throughout the year. Within a short drive of the guesthouse are a number of historical sites and museums including Nothe Fort and Bovington Tank Museum.
The area is home to a fantastic sea life centre, the famous sand world and an array of beaches to enjoy during the summer months.
Events are held throughout the seasons and include a range of boating races, car shows, exhibitions and sporting events including beach volleyball competitions.
From the A35 head towards Dorchester. From Dorchester take the B3147. Start out on Maumbury Road. At traffic signals turn right onto Weymouth Avenue - B3147 Signposted All Routes. At Jurassic roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A354 Signposted Portland, Town Centre. At Veasta roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A354 Signposted Portland B3159. At Manor roundabout take the 1st exit onto Dorchester Road - B3159 Signposted Hospital, Weymouth College, Ferry Terminal Arrive on Dorchester Road Continue straight passing Lidl on your left. Barnes's Rest number 165 Dorchester Road is on the right just past the Dorchester Road Doctor's surgery and just before the rise of Lodmoor Hill.
