An idyllic retreat for couples or small families, Audrey's Cottage is a beautifully appointed three bedroom property set down a deep woodland track just two miles from Hay on Wye. Flanked by a wonderful forest to the rear, the cottage boasts breathtaking views across the Wye Valley towards the Black Mountains.
Full of charming period features, the living room has a lovely open fire, exposed beams and timbers, comfortable sofas, Freesat TV, DVD player and CD player. There is a table and chairs overlooking the lovely country views and the kitchen is well appointed with a cream coal-fired Rayburn, electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.
The property has a delightful garden with lawn shrubs and deep dingle between the cottage and the forest with stream running through. In winter, this can be quite a torrent as the water runs off the nearby Begwyn Hills. There is a secure barn for mountain bikes and parking for two to three cars.
The rental price includes linen, towels, electricity (night storage heaters), the first basket of logs for the fire and one hod of stove nuts for the Rayburn
Short breaks may be available at certain times of the year. Two well behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement.
The property is not suitable for children under five years old due to the sloping garden and neighbouring dingle with stream.
